Valorant may put a stronger emphasis on shooting mechanics than other games in the hero shooting genre, but each of its eclectic cast of Agents definitely offers players unique abilities that are worth taking the time to experiment with and master. But you won’t have access to all of them straight away. Here’s how to unlock Agents in Valorant.
How to Unlock Agents in Valorant
When you first start playing Valorant, you’ll only have access to five agents: Brimstone, Jett, Phoenix, Sage, and Sova. There are nine more to unlock, which are achieved either by leveling up and selecting an Agent unlock as a reward or by working toward achieving contract missions to unlock specific Agents.
Progression in Valorant is accrued naturally after playing any Valorant game mode and is available to all players; you do not need to purchase the Premium Battle Pass subscription to unlock Agents (though some Agent Contracts may be unavailable as a result).
While you’ll gain experience in Valorant no matter how you play, to increase the rate at which you do so make sure to check out your daily missions. As you can see, ticking off certain challenges nets you more XP than others.
For every level you gain, you’ll work toward gaining a new Tier on the Battle Pass (everyone has access to the standard Battle Pass), and certain Tiers will give you the option to unlock a new Agents to try.
In some instances, there may also be Contracts to select and work toward. Completing these will also unlock a specific Agent.
The following Agents are locked and only accessible after spending a Tier reward on them or by completing their contract:
- Cypher
- Breach
- Omen
- Reyna
- Viper
- Raze
- Skye
- Killjoy
- Yoru
