Getting Large Snowflakes in Animal Crossing New Horizons
Large snowflakes are a new type of material you can gather during the winter season in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Unlike regular snowflakes, however, these can only be obtained by talking to snowmen that you’ve built.
First off, you’ll need to build a snowman. When your island is completely covered in snow, you can find snowballs on the ground, and move them around to create larger snowballs. Your goal here is to create two large snowballs and combine them to make a snowman.
You’ll want the two snowballs to be of roughly equal size, with the bottom one being just slightly larger than the top one. Once you combine both of them by pushing them together, you’ll have a snowman. From that point on, you can talk to the snowman once per day over the next four days to get one large snowflake.
How to Get Snowflakes
Regular snowflakes are much easier to obtain in Animal Crossing New Horizons. Similar to the cherry blossom leaves and the maple leaves, snowflakes can be found floating through the air around your island.
To get them, you’ll need to take out your net and catch them like you would a regular flying bug. If you fail to catch them, they’ll also despawn, so try to aim the net properly before swinging.
Just like the other seasonal materials, flakes are used for crafting seasonal recipes during winter. These DIY recipes can be obtained through message bottles and air balloons.
