If you’re looking to add a sophisticated feel to your island in Animal Crossing New Horizons, Bonsai are a great way to achieve just that. There are two different bonsai trees that players can get in the game. The Cherry-Blossom Bonsai and the Pine Bonsai Tree. In this guide, we’ll be talking you through how to get both bonsai trees in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
Getting Bonsai in Animal Crossing New Horizons
There are two ways you can get both of the bonsai trees in New Horizons. The first is to simply get lucky and shoot down a balloon present with your slingshot.
Specifically, you need to do this during the Cherry Blossom Festival for the Cherry-Blossom Bonsai. The festival runs from April 1 to April 10 in northern hemisphere islands, and October 1 to October 10 in southern hemisphere islands.
For the Pine Bonsai Tree, you’ll need to shoot down a balloon present during the Fall months. These are October through December in the northern hemisphere, and April through June in the southern hemisphere.
If you don’t have any luck shooting down balloon presents, you can always get bonsai by finding the DIY recipe and crafting them at a workbench. We’ve listed all the crafting materials required for each type of bonsai in the game below.
