Today Bandai Namco announced the release date of its upcoming anime soccer game Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions.
The game will launch in both North America and Europe for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on August 28. Japan will get it one day earlier on August 27.
The announcement for Europe also include Standard, Deluxe, Collector’s, Champions, and Legends editions with a variety of bonuses which you can watch just below. At the moment those have not been announced for North America.
We also see the content of the pre-order bonuses and the Character pass including 9 DLC players and a New Champions Uniform set.
Last, but not least, a new trailer was released, featuring a glimpse of features and on players from France, Uruguay, England, Netherlands, and Italy.
If you want to see more of Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions, you can enjoy the first screenshots and artwork, more screenshots, the first trailer, the second trailer, a comment from the series’ creator, the first gameplay, another look at the game, a few recent screenshots showing members of other national teams, a trailer showing off the German team, one focusing on the American team, one on Senegal, and screenshots featuring France.
While the franchise is certainly very well known, not everyone is familiar with it, as its popularity varies a lot from region to region.
While In North America the original Captain Tsubasa anime never rose to the same prominence, I don’t think I’m exaggerating by arguing that in many European and Latin American countries (and of course, Japan) almost every kid who grew up in the past forty years knows about it.
