Where to Buy Them

If roses are one of your native flowers on the island you’ll be able to purchase them at your Nook’s Cranny store. If roses are not native to your island you won’t be able to purchase them at Nook’s Cranny.

Don’t worry though because Leif will sell you flowers that aren’t native to your island. Leif can be found in the plaza and sells quite a few different flowers that rotate on a daily basis.

The final place you’ll be able to purchase them are on other player’s islands. Just go to their Nook’s Cranny and open up the cabinet in the store to peruse their wares.

Finding Roses

There are a few different ways you can find roses outside of simply purchasing them. Your friends can trade them with you by either mailing you seeds for roses or dropping by your island and giving them to you.

You can also find roses by purchasing Nook Miles Tickets from the ATM machine inside of the Resident Services building.

You can use the Nook Miles Ticket to travel to mystery islands that will have all different flowers. You will be able to find roses on some of these islands which you can bring back to your own to plant.

How to Breed for Hybrids

You can breed hybrid colored roses by planting certain colors next to each other and watering them with a watering can. Do note the difference between “seed” and “hybrid.” Seed simply means that the plants must have been grown from seeds bought from stores and NPCs, while hybrids are reproduced flowers. Here is a list of how to get each hybrid colored rose.

  • Orange: Seed Red + Seed Yellow or Hybrid Black + Seed Yellow
  • Black: Seed Red + Seed Red
  • Pink: Seed Red + Seed Red or Seed Red + Seed Yellow
  • Purple: Seed White + Seed White
  • Red: Hybrid Orange + Hybrid Purple
  • Blue: Hybrid Red + Hybrid Red

In addition to that, we’ve also included a graphic down below to indicate the best way to plant your Roses if you’re looking to get the hybrids efficiently. Credit to BackwardsN and peach-n-key.
