Animal Crossing: New Horizons has only been out for about three days now and if you’ve been on Twitter, Reddit or any other social media platform, then you must be aware that this little life sim game seems to be taking over the world, distracting players from their real life in the best way possible.
One couple in particular –both Animal Crossing fans– were surprised one day this past weekend when their close friends threw them a surprise wedding inside of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
You see, due to COVID-19, the engaged couple had to call off their planned wedding. One of them even had their med school graduation canceled so the two of them have been definitely down in the dumps thanks to these recent setbacks.
Thankfully, this couple has some really nice friends because they went out of their way to create a small ceremony on one of their island towns. They put down heart-covered floor tile designs; there are some tiki torches lining up the path, and there are even some roses and other flowers scattered about the makeshift “altar.”

As time goes on, we’re sure to see more stories like this pop up regarding Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I could totally see people going on dates on their respective islands or even some creative marriage proposals here and there.
