Capcom Europe has today alerted customers who either have or plan to purchase a physical copy of Resident Evil 3 Remake that they may experience delayed delivery as a result of the current coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

While the actual release date itself hasn’t changed from April 3, the distribution of physical copies is likely to be adversely affected by local import restrictions and, presumably, less personnel on the ground.

The full statement is posted over on Capcom UK’s Twitter page, which you can view below:

The impact of the pandemic isn’t just affecting Capcom; the entire games industry has been hampered by staff safety protocols, distribution difficulties, and the closure of technical support services over the past couple of weeks.

Major AAA studios such as Square Enix, Ubisoft, and Bethesda have confirmed social distancing, work-home-protocols, while Nintendo confirmed that its repair service center is temporarily out of action.

Thankfully, the impending release dates for games like Resident Evil 3 Remake and Final Fantasy VII Remake haven’t been impacted. As previously mentioned, Capcom’s upcoming survival horror will still release April 3, while Square Enix confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Remake will launch on time — though, again, it also noted that physical copies may be delayed.
