While you’ll come across all kinds of extraordinary enemies on your journey across Sengoku era Japan, sometimes you may need a helping hand. Fortunately, Nioh 2 has co-op multiplayer that you can use to call in a helping hand. Here’s how to play co-op multiplayer with friends in Nioh 2.

Playing Co-Op Multiplayer in Nioh 2

To play co-op multiplayer, you’ll need to first go to the ‘Mission Select’ screen. From here, you want to go to the Starting Point, and choose Torii Gate.

You’ll now be given two options. The first is Expeditions, and the other is Random Encounters.

Expeditions allows you to play a mission with another player. Within Expedition, you’ll have the option of choosing a ‘Quick Match’ or ‘Custom Match.’ Selecting ‘Quick Match’ will simply pair you up with another random player as quickly as possible.

Choosing ‘Custom Match’ lets you set up your own parameters for Nioh 2’s co-op, including setting up a password to get your friend to join.

Playing with Friends in Nioh 2

To play with friends in Nioh 2, simply choose the ‘Custom Match’ option and set up a password for your session.

Send that over to your friends, and have them navigate to the Torii Gate screen, too. From here, they’ll then have the option to ‘Search for a Room.’ Have them select this option and then enter the password you set for the Nioh 2 co-op custom match. Let the game work its magic, and soon enough you’ll be ready to take on a mission together.
