Season 4 of Castlevania, Netflix’s hit anime series based on the classic video game IP from Konami, has been confirmed on the official Netflix Twitter account today. No specific release window for the fourth season has been announced as yet.
The news comes less than a month after the release of Season 3; the acclaimed series has been loved by both fans and critics alike, with the show as a whole having an 8.2 critic rating on IMDb.
Castlevania follows the story of Trevor Belmont, the last living descendent of the Belmont dynasty, a family that is basically just really darn good at hunting vampires. Trevor, though, seems to be more of a lucky drunk than an expert vampire hunter — that is until he gains friends who encourage him to take the fight to Dracula, who is ravaging Europe after priests kill his human wife.
The Netflix shows greatly expands the lore and characters of the video games, often diving into character motivations for beloved characters like Trevor, Alucard, and Dracula. The show goes hard into that R-rating with plenty of gore, sex, demons, and swearing. If you haven’t watched Castlevania yet, we wholeheartedly recommend doing so right now.
