Nearly five years since it was first revealed during Sony’s E3 press conference, Final Fantasy VII Remake is at least nearing its launch. As part of its promotional campaign in the build-up to release, Square Enix has produced a short documentary that goes behind the scenes of its development. Called Inside Final Fantasy VII Remake, the video features insight from key personnel behind the project.
That includes producer Yoshinori Kitase, co-directors Motomu Toriyama and Naoki Hamaguchi, and story & scenario developer Kazushige Nojima who discuss how elements of the game such as character motives, story beats, and gameplay systems have been adapted this time around.
You can watch the video yourself below.
For more on the game, there’s plenty of FFVII Remake content on Twinfinite. That includes information on the western release of two illustrated books that feature some gorgeous artwork, as well as the recently released FF7 Remake demo, which was made available in the wake of confirmation that the full game had gone gold.
If you’re interested in our own full impressions of the game, we have an extensive hands-on-preview for your perusal. Today Square Enix also released an extensive video.
Final Fantasy VII Remake’s first game will launch on PS4 on April 10, 2020.
