You’re going to want to get these, as they can be redeemed for a bunch of different things in the game. More on that in a bit, though!

How to Get Nook Miles in Animal Crossing New Horizons

When it comes to actually acquiring them, you’re going to want to open up the Nook Phone. From there, head over to the Nook Miles option and select it with A.

You’re going to open up a new window that will list different challenges. One might ask that you catch fish, another that you cut trees.

These can really be anything and they’re designed to make you play differently and encourage you to do all that the island has to offer. The challenges we’ve seen so far are:

  • Unlock Nook Miles
  • Catch 10 fish
  • Catch 100 fish
  • Catch 500 fish
  • Catch 2000 fish
  • Catch 10 unique fish
  • Catch 20 unique fish
  • Catch 40 unique fish
  • Catch 60 unique fish
  • Talk to your all your neighbors one day
  • Talk to your all your neighbors 10 days
  • Talk to your all your neighbors 20 days
  • Catch 10 bugs

  • Catch 500 bugs

Using Your Nook Miles

When you want to use the miles themselves, you’re going to want to head on over to where Nook is and check out the ATM lookin’ machine he has set up.

Use this and you’re going to be able to spend your miles on things that range from useful (like a tool ring or crafting recipes) to aesthetic (like new hairstyles).

That’s all there is to it! That’s how to get (and also use) Nook Miles in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
