Getting Golden Trout in Animal Crossing New Horizons

Of course, like any other fish in Animal Crossing, you’re going to need a fishing rod in order to catch any kind of fish, and for the Golden Trout specifically, you’re also going to need to have access to the higher cliffs on your island so you’re going to need a ladder too.

You can read more about getting fishing rods and ladders right here.

When you’ve obtained both of these items, head on up to the highest cliff on your island and look for a stream of water or a pond. Golden Trout can only be found in the clifftop rivers so just look up there and fish until you catch one.

It’s also worth noting that these fish can only be found during certain times of the year and during specific hours of the day. Golden Trout can be caught in March, April, May, September, October, and November from 4 PM to 9 AM. This means that you will not be able to find it from 9 AM to 4 PM.

You can donate it to the museum once you finally catch it or you can sell it to Timmy and Tommy for the very high price of 15,000 Bells.
