Getting the Call Islander App in Animal Crossing New Horizons

To get the Call Islander app, you’ll need to have another player living on your island with you. Essentially, the app is used to start couch co-op play, where all players on one islander can go about exploring the island at their leisure at the same time.

There are limitations to this, however, such as all players will need to ‘follow the leader’ meaning they can’t all go off and explore different parts of the island at the same time.

If you’re the only player living on your island, you won’t ever get the Call Islander app on your Nook Phone, because, well, who would you call? It’d be pointless.

Using the Call Islander App

Once you’ve got the app installed on your phone after having another player join you on the island, you’ll then be able to open your Nook Phone and select the app.

You can then choose which of the players on the island you want to join you.

As you have used the Call Islander app, you will be the leader, so the other players will follow you around. However, by shaking your Joy-Con or remote, you can then change leader, with whichever player who wants to take the lead pressing A on their controller.
