How to Upgrade Weapons in Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE Encore

When you first bring a new character into your party lineup, they’ll be equipped with a Mirage and a Carnage Unity. In this game, a Carnage Unity is basically the equivalent of your regular weapon, and you can get new ones to increase your stats and change up your elemental affinities.

With that in mind, the only way to upgrade your weapon is by getting a new Carnage Unity. You can do this in chapter one, when you unlock the Bloom Palace. Head there, talk to Tiki, and choose the Carnage Unity option.

From here, you’ll see a list of new weapons to choose from, and if you have the required materials, you’ll be able to create it. New Carnage Unities are unlocked as you get the materials for them (usually by killing enemies and obtaining their Performa), and are the only way for you to increase your attack stats and keep getting stronger.

Do note, however, that all Carnage Unities have different elemental resistances and weaknesses, while the physical affinities remain the same across the board. This means that you need to be aware of your elemental weaknesses as you upgrade from one weapon to another.
