Your mission in Journey to the Savage Planet is all about getting as much data as possible for Kindred Aerospace. Problem is, you’ll need to increase your rank in order to unlock tools so you can carry on exploring the world. Here’s how to increase rank in Journey to the Savage Planet.

Increasing Rank in Journey to the Savage Planet

At the very beginning of your adventure, you’ll simply have Primary Objectives you need to complete. Soon you’ll get some Global Objectives and Secondaries, and alongside these, you’ll get ‘Science Experiments.’

These can be tracked by opening up your Journal. This is done by pressing the View button on Xbox One (the one to the left of the big Xbox button in the center of your controller), or the touchpad on PS4.

Science Experiments are basically like challenges in Journey to the Savage Planet. They may task you with gathering live samples from creatures, killing creatures in a particular way, or scanning particular percentages of the planet’s ecosystem.

Scroll down your Journal last to find the Science Experiments. The top one here will always explain what you need to do to achieve the next rank, as shown in the screenshot below.

Simply complete Science Experiments as and when they come up and you’ll increase rank in Journey to the Savage Planet. It’s as simple as that.

What Increasing Rank Does

Every time you go up a rank in Journey to the Savage Planet, you’ll unlock more upgrades and items you can print from the 3D Printer on the Javelin.

Be sure to check this out as soon as you’ve increased rank, as a lot of these are important for progressing through the game’s story.
