Fuel Locations in Journey to the Savage Planet

While there are 20 different fuel sources you can find throughout Journey to the Savage Planet, you only need to find and mark five of these for extraction to refill your Javelin and get home.

Down below, we’ve listed five fuel locations that are quick and easy to access from the listed teleporters you can fast travel to, making it easy for you to quickly grab these once you’ve wrapped up the main story.

1. Landing Site – Towering Crystals

Use the grappler on the nearby grapple points on the rocks on your left to make your way slowly to the top of the large pillar.

Jump across to the cliff and the platform across.

Run straight ahead until you find a gap in the wall.

The fuel source will be right in front of you.

2. The Itching Fields – Festering Chasm

Turn back on yourself and start running back up the hill.

Take the right path when it forks, and follow it round through the tree trunk until you come to this archway.

Go through the gap just next to the mushroom on the right, and you’ll find another fuel source.

3. The Itching Fields – Planetary Flotsam

Head down the steps and across the island directly in front of you with the alien tablet on.

Start hopping islands to your left until you spot this rail you can grind to once you’ve got the upgrade.

Hop along it to find another Journey to the Savage Planet fuel source waiting for you at the end.

4. The Elevated Realm – Crackling Pedestal

From the Crackling Pedestal teleporter, head north until you’re standing by an arch of floating rocks.

Once you see this, turn left and you should spot a floating island fairly far off in the distance. It’s also got an Alien Proximity Door that’ll shut if you get too close without shocking it first.

You’ll need to be Rank 3 and have unlocked the Quadruple Thrusters to make it over there. Use a shock fruit to prevent the proximity door from shutting once you land on the island. The problem is, you have to get the timing just right.

Before you begin jumping over there, make sure you’ve already got the shock fruit equipped. As you’re still in the air and about to land in front of the room with the fuel cell inside, press R1/ RB to use it.

This should cause you to zap the door, preventing it from closing, before it notices you’re there. Walk on in to grab the fuel source.

5. The Elevated Realm – Pillars of Xzorgana

From the spawn point head west until you come to two pillars with a ledge between them. Before you try the jump, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got the Quadruple Thrusters upgrade unlocked, otherwise, you’re not gonna make it.

With a run, use a triple jump to make your way to the island. Take out the two skippers on the island and hug the right-hand side, following the path round.

You’ll be brought to a platform you can ground pound. Do so to find a fuel cell waiting for you.

There you have all the Journey to the Savage Planet fuel locations you’ll need to get home and truly complete the game. For more tips, tricks, and guides, you can head over to our wiki. Alternatively, you can just search for Twinfinite in your next Google!
