Pokemon Sword & Shield: How to Evolve Piloswine Into Mamoswine

Pokemon sword mamoswine

On your quest to catch ‘em all in Pokemon Sword and Shield and fill up your Galar Pokedex, you’ll come across a few particularly tricky ones to catch. One such Pokemon is Mamoswine, a large Mammoth-like Pokemon if it’s name hadn’t given it away. It’s an Ice and Ground-type Pokemon and evolves from Piloswine. The problem is, it isn’t simply a case of making it level up. Here’s how to evolve Piloswine into Mamoswine in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

First off, you’ll need to make sure you’ve got a Piloswine. This can either be evolved from a Swinub at level 33, or found in the following locations. We’ve also noted the percentage chance of one spawning in these locations, too.

  • Dusty Bowl Wild Area – In the Grass – Snowing – 40%
  • Lake of Outrage – In the Grass – Snowing – 25%
  • Dusty Bowl – Randomly wanders the overworld when snowing or during snowstorms.
  • East Lake Axewell – Randomly wanders during snowing or snowstorms.

Evolving Piloswine Into Mamoswine in Pokemon Sword and Shield

To evolve Piloswine into Mamoswine, go to any Pokemon Center in the game. On the left-hand side, speak to the Move Relearner and choose your Piloswine. Now, get it to relearn the Ancient Power move. Once you’ve done this, have your Piloswine level up once and it’ll evolve into Mamoswine.

Ancient Power is also a pretty handy move to have at your disposal anyway, and at least you won’t have to shell out on buying a special item or evolution stone to evolve your Piloswine into Mamoswine in Pokemon Sword and Shield.
