Borderlands 3’s release in September might have kept Vault Hunters busy for a little while, but by now most players have likely finished the main campaign. Enter Moxxi’s Heist of the Handsome Jackpot DLC. A new chunk of story content that sees players head to the Handsome Jackpot Casino (formerly run by Handsome Jack himself), to shoot some robots and get some loot with the help of Moxxi. Before we go any further, it’s worth pointing out that the Moxxi’s Heist DLC is paid content that’s part of Borderlands 3’s Season Pass. If you’ve not bought the Season Pass for the game, you’re not going to be able to access Moxxi’s Heist in Borderlands 3.
With the Season Pass/ DLC purchased and installed, you don’t need to worry about finishing the game or what level you’re at.
As long as you’ve played enough to get aboard the ship — Sanctuary III — you’ll be all set to enter this abandoned casino alongside Moxxi. This is unlocked during ‘Episode 5’ of Borderlands 3.
That’s because the enemies and loot in Moxxi’s Heist are tuned for level 13 Vault Hunters, but will scale up for higher-level players, meaning you can jump in and have fun as soon as the DLC’s installed.
To start Moxxie’s Heist in Borderlands 3, load up your chosen Vault Hunter and head to Sanctuary. There will be a new quest marker that looks like an exclamation point inside a yellow diamond. It’s right outside Moxxi’s Bar, too.
At the marker, you’ll find a poster advertising Moxxi’s heist. Examine it and you’ll then be able to start the quest and travel to the Handsome Jackpot to properly begin the DLC.
