Today Cloud Imperium Games reached out with a press release to announce an upcoming Free Fly Event for its space simulator Star Citizen.
The event will-kick off just after Citizencon, letting everyone download the client and try the game for free starting on November 24 without needing to make any pledge to Star Citizen’s ongoing crowdfunding campaign.
The event will end on December 5, so you have plenty of time to see what the game is all about for yourself.
To sweeten the deal, all the game’s ships and vehicles (over 100 including variants) will be flyabale and drivable during the event following the schedule below.
Nov 24 – Anvil Aerospace

Like last year, players will be able to visit the Intergalactic Aerospace Expo (this time around located in the Area 18 spaceport of the Coruscant-like city-planet ArcCorp), and pick up the ships of the day to try them out.
In more Star Citizen news, we also learn that tomorrow (November 22) will see the introduction of a new “Welcome Hub” including new tutorials and a “Guide System” that will match new players with Star Citizen Community veterans who will volunteer teach new players how to fly and enjoy the game.

Syat Citizen is a crowdfunded game and the crowdfunding total for the game has recently passed 241 million dollars, and it’s sitting at $241,388,136 at the moment of this writing.
2,422,445 accounts have been registered for the game so far, but this number is likely to increase when the floodgates of the Free Fly event open.
