However, if you’re looking to evolve it again you’ve got a little more work to go through. Here’s how to evolve Doublade into Aegislash in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Where to Find Honedge

Of course, the first step to everything is finding a Honedge and evolving it. Just in case you need to know, Honedge can be found in Hammerlocke Hills, the region of the Wild Area found just outside the town of Hammerlocke.

Honedge can appear in both foggy and snowstorm weather, so make sure you’re running around in either of the two. After you catch one you’ll need to get it to level 35 before it evolves in Doublade.

Finding a Dusk Stone

Now comes the tricky part, as the only way to evolve Doublade into Aegislash is by exposing it to a Dusk Stone, which isn’t terribly easy to come across. Luckily, we know exactly where to find one in Pokemon Sword and Shield, so here’s a step-by-step walkthrough.

Time needed: 5 minutes

Here’s where to get a Dusk Stone in Pokemon Sword and Shield

  1. Use Flying Taxi to travel to Stow-on-Side. If you haven’t been to the town yet, you’ll need to follow the story until you do so.

  2. When you arrive head to the town’s Pokemon Center.

  3. Look for the sign to the right of the center, then run behind it and look just behind the right corner of the building.

  4. Interact with the Pokeball on the ground and you’ll get a Dusk Stone.

Now that you have the Dusk Stone, simply give it to Doublade and you’ll a brand new Aegislash to join your team.

There is another way to get Dusk Stones, and it’s via the Digging Duo in the Wild Area.

The Digging Duo can be found in the Wild Area and if you give them Watts, you have a chance of them finding rare stones for you, including the Dusk Stone.

Like other stone evolution Pokemon though, Doublade’s ability to learn moves by leveling up is extremely stunted once its evolved. It will learn King’s Shield (which you definitely want) once it evolves into Aegislash but that’s it. Anything else will have to be learned via the Move Reminder.

That covers everything you need to know about how to evolve Doublade into Aegislash in Pokemon Sword and Shield.
