Pokemon fans have been asking for an option to skip cutscenes since they appeared in the series years ago. This time around, Game Freak has listened and provided. Here’s how to skip cutscenes and dialogue in Pokemon Sword & Shield.
How to Skip Cutscenes and Dialogue in Pokemon Sword & Shield
Skipping Cutscenes
The ability to skip cutscenes has finally been added to Pokemon, however, it doesn’t work how you’d expect it to. In what feels almost like a challenge, players are given the option to skip all cutscenes, or none of them.
You can’t pick and choose which ones to skip individually. You’ll have to turn them all off at once, so be sure that you won’t mind missing any.
First of all, you’ll need to press X to open the menu. Then, select Options. At the very bottom of the list of options, you’ll see Skip Movies. The game will warn you that all “movies” will be skipped. It even asks you only to select this option after completing the story.
If none of these things deter you, go ahead and switch Skip Movies to On. You’ll be enjoying the Galar region through mostly gameplay from then on.
Skipping Dialogue
The same options don’t apply for dialogue. You can’t skip it outright, but you can speed it up just like in previous entries in the franchise.
Text speed is set to Normal by default, but you can change this almost as soon as you begin the game if you’d like.
To do this, hit X to open the menu. From there, select Options once again. The Text Speed option will be the first one in the list, so all you need to do is set it to Fast.
These are all the details you’ll need on how to skip cutscenes and dialogue in Pokemon Sword & Shield.
