Death Stranding, the new game from Hideo Kojima’s studio, is finally out on PlayStation 4. The movement in the game is pretty unique, with you needing to use the triggers to get balance and not lose your packages. To get to higher places without falling over, you can use ladders. In case you’re struggling to get your footing or climb higher, here’s everything you need to know about how to use the ladder in Death Stranding.
Using Ladders in Death Stranding
To use one, you’ll need to head to any delivery terminal or permanent facility and choose the Fabricate Equipment option to craft one. You’ll need 20 metal to do so.
Then, when you’re out and about and decide that you want to use one, you need to hold right on the d-pad and use the right stick to select the ladder you’ve made from the options.
Then, hold L2 to start positioning the ladder when you’re ready to use it and make the position perfect with the analog sticks, getting it secure against the side of a cliff or over a river. Then, press R2 to confirm it.
Finally, to actually climb it, press square to grab it and then move as you normally would.
How to Leave One for Another Player
As for helping out other players, you just need to leave the ladder you’ve used where it is.
Then, when any player who’s in your world comes across where you used a ladder, they should be able to use it too.
