Is Death Stranding Open World? Answered

For all intents and purposes, yes, Death Stranding is an open world game.

In it, you have the ability to wander a wide open, seamlessly connected game world dotted with enemies to sneak past, characters to interact with and secrets to uncover.

This is all in addition to the game’s main story, which sees you traveling across the game world as a package delivery man who is tasked with connecting those who still struggle to survive in a post-apocalyptic existence.

To that end, you can expect to spend hours upon hours wandering the fields, plains, hills, mountains and whatever else is contained in Death Stranding, immersing yourself in its world and gameplay for hours on end.

And that’s really all there is to it. To be sure, the game also offers stealth and action gameplay elements, but as a whole it is and always will be an open world title. If that’s what you look for in a game, you won’t be disappointed; and, if you’re opposed to open world games, it means you may want to look elsewhere for your next gaming experience.

Hopefully this cleared up whether Death Stranding is an open world game or not. Enjoy delivering packages and channeling your inner delivery person in this latest Hideo Kojima game!

Death Stranding is currently available on PlayStation 4, with a PC version intended for release in Summer of 2020.
