Bosses Are so Varied

boss fights in Luigi's Mansion 3, reasons to play

There are a ton of bosses to fight in Luigi’s Mansion 3 and each one is pretty different and unique in terms of how they’re defeated, how they act, and how they interact with the environment.

While going through all of the 17 floors of the massive hotel, I looked forward to each boss fight with giddy anticipation, waiting to see what would happen next and what kind of floor would pop up.

I never thought that Luigi would end up fighting a ghost in a Godzilla costume on a film set, but that happens in this game and it’s honestly one of the most memorable sections of the game.

It can be difficult to make 15+ bosses feel unique in a smaller game like Luigi’s Mansion 3 but the devs have done a stand-up job with their personalities and moveset and it’s a big reason why you should be playing this game if you aren’t already.

The Characters Have so Much Personality

The developers over at Next Level Games have really done a bang-up job at giving Luigi, Mario, Peach, Toad, and all of the other characters shining personalities, even without much voice acting.

Luigi’s interactions with the other character really shine in this game and you can tell that the team puts so much work into making Luigi more than just a timid sidekick.

There are several laugh-out-loud moments involving Luigi and Gooigi and just wait until you see Luigi’s interactions with Mario once he finds him towards the end of the game –it’s one of the best moments in Mario & Luigi history if you ask me.

It’s a shame that Nintendo doesn’t push these characters’ personalities in the mainline first-party titles, but it’s honestly refreshing to see Luigi take the spotlight again after being away for several years.

Now, I just really want to see a Next Level-developed game starring Princess Peach or something — it’d be awesome.

It’s a Collectathon

If you’re someone who likes to rummage through every single corner of every single room, then you will absolutely adore Luigi’s Mansion 3. There’s so much stuff to collect such as hidden gems, secret Boos, and tons and tons of cash.

Even if you search thoroughly on your first playthrough of the game, there will no doubt be items lying about that you’ve yet to discover.

There’s enough content here to last you for about 20-25 hours, so if you’re looking for a collectathon type of game for the Switch, this is a good one to go with.

Because There’s Nothing Else Until Pokemon

new switch games releasing in November 2019

Let’s be honest, this holiday season isn’t the busiest for the Switch but we do still have the November heavy-hitter that is Pokemon Sword and Shield.

If you’re looking for a nice little game to play while you wait for the next big Switch exclusive (sorry Mario & Sonic), then Luigi’s Mansion is a great choice, especially if you only own a Switch.

Sword and Shield are less than two weeks away from releasing now, so try not to think about the release too much or else the time will slowly tick away.

In the meantime, maybe pick up Luigi’s Mansion 3 to make the time go by quickly.
