UK Charts: Ghost Recon Breakpoint Can’t Knock FIFA 20 From its Perch

Ghost Recon Breakpoint’s launch wasn’t enough to knock FIFA 20 from the number one spot in the UK last week. Even despite a 66% decline in week-on-week sales, EA Sports’ ever-popular franchise remains far ahead of the competition when it comes to boxed video game sales, enjoying a second week at number one.

That’s not a huge surprise, perhaps, but a mediocre critical reception certainly wouldn’t have done Breakpoint any favors.

Borderlands 3, meanwhile, remains in the top three even in the face of a 43% drop in sales. Gears 5 also stays in fourth and manages to do so thanks to just a minuscule 1% decline in sales week-on-week.

This week’s other new entry is a remaster of a beloved licensed game; Ghostbusters: The Video Game enters the charts in sixth place, with the PS4 comprising the lion’s share of sales.

The top 10 is as below:

  1. FIFA 20
  2. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
  3. Borderlands 3
  4. Gears 5
  5. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
  6. Ghostbusters: Remastered
  7. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe
  8. Sea of Thieves
  9. Minecraft: Xbox Edition
  10. 10 Forza Horizon 3

As noted by Gamesindustry.biz, Minecraft’s sales are being recorded separately for each platform for some reason. Combining all platforms would actually bump the game up to third.
