Today Tokyo-based developer Âge is hosting its 20th anniversary “Still Breathing” event, which Twinfinite is attending, and they finally announced a Muv-Luv Alternative anime.
The announcement was made at the end of the official panel, when the audience was graced with a look at a super-brief teaser showing Tactical Suface Fighters in battle and the words “Muv-Luv Alternative in animation.”
No dates or details have been provided for the moment. We don’t know dates, format, number of episodes, or anything else. All we know is that it’s coming.
Muv-Luv Alternative is widely considered one of the most beloved visual novels of all time, and the climax of the Muv-Luv series.
If you’re not familiar with with the game, it’s a tragic and dramatic science-fiction visual novel set in an alternative universe in which humanity is locked in a hopeless struggle against a ruthless alien threat.
The franchise was adapted into anime before with Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse and Schwarzesmarken, but the original trilogy never received its own series, despite the fact that the fans have been asking for it for a long time.
