Playing Gun Game in Modern Warfare? What You Need to Know

Update: Activision has now announced that Gun Game has been added into Modern Warfare. Simply head into the Multiplayer menu and select the game mode from the Quick Play filter option. Deselect all others and then begin searching. You’ll now be playing Gun Game in Modern Warfare.

Original: Unfortunately, at this moment in time, Modern Warfare does not have the popular Gun Game mode. This doesn’t mean that it might not be added in as a limited-time option in the future, though.

The Call of Duty series has frequently dropped additional game modes and other content post-launch in the past, and Activision has already confirmed that Modern Warfare will be getting free post-launch content on all platforms at the same time. Whether or not Gun Game will be included in that remains to be seen though.

What Is Gun Game?

For those of you who are completely clueless on what this mode even is, let us explain. Gun Game is a multiplayer mode that drops all players onto a map with the same starting weapon. Get a kill with that weapon and you’ll move onto the next in a predetermined order that every player will follow.

Get knifed, and you’ll be set back to the previous weapon you were on. This goes on until one player’s managed to nab a kill with every weapon in the order.

This usually requires a kill with about 25 different weapons. Of course, if you get knifed, you’ll need to get kills with some weapons over again.

It’s an incredibly compelling game mode and one that helps to level the playing field where perks and loadouts can muddy things. Unfortunately, though, we’ll have to cross our fingers and hope it makes its way to Modern Warfare.

That’s everything you need to know on whether or not Gun Game is in Modern Warfare (2019). For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to check out our ever-expanding guide wiki, search for Twinfinite, or have a read of some more of our guides below.
