The best audio setting isn’t necessarily what makes the game sound the most impressive. What you’re looking for is what’s the best for your setup and what you’re after from the game.

Best Audio Settings & Mix in Modern Warfare

If you’re playing the campaign, the best settings are really what gives you the experience you’re after. Everything starts at 100 out of 100 on the settings, but you might want to maximise the impact of the dialogue sounds if you want it to be a cinematic experience.

To do that, the best thing to do would be to turn down the effects volume a bit, maybe to 50 or 60, but keep the dialogue volume at 100.

However, what most people will be looking for is the best audio settings and mix for multiplayer.

For that, you’re looking to make it so that every gunshot and footstep is easy to hear. You don’t need to be distracted by dialogue and music when trying to get the win.

You should still keep the master and effects volumes at 100, but you should reduce the music and dialogue volumes to a point that you’re comfortable with. Maybe between 30 and 50 out of 100 is great. For music, you could even turn it to 0 if you wanted.

Then, it’s about choosing the best mix option for your particular set up. If you’re using a Home Cinema, select that from the options. Press Options if you’re on PS4 (Menu on Xbox One) and you’ll see the mixing options at the top of the Audio tab.

You can choose between a few different options, and press in the right thumbstick to get some more information on them. Some will be best for headsets, some will be best for standard set ups, and others will be mixed for surround sound.

If you’re trying to be competitive, it’s best to choose one that is tuned to a lower frequency, so that it makes it easier to pick up the sound of footsteps.

That’s everything you need to know about the best audio setting and mix in Modern Warfare. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to check our our Modern Warfare wiki guide or search for Twinfinite. We have also listed some other helpful guides on the game down below.
