The game is developed by the creators of the Atelier series at Gust, so it shouldn’t surprise that it’s a fairly classic turn-based JRPG.

Interestingly, it appears that positioning and area of effect of spells is quite important, adding a small strategt JRPG elemeent.

We also get to see the anime visuals with a shader that well represents the original style of the anime.

The demo was played live and narrated by Koei Tecmo Europe PR & Marketing Executive Nathan Mills, so what you see is what you get.

You can watch it below.

The demo showcases the guild itself, the city of Crocus, and plenty of battle gameplay. It certainly looks rather fetching.

Fairy Tail will be released for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in 2020.
