How to Start Vex Offensive in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep

UPDATE: The Vex Offensive activity is now live, and here’s how to unlock it.

First things first, head back to the Tower and talk to Ikora Rey to receive a new quest called Vex Invasion. It requires you to kill 100 Vex and three Gate Lords on the Moon.

Now, head back to the Moon, and essentially you’ll need to look out for white lightning storms in the sky, which indicate that an invasion is about to happen. These events seem to be random, so it’s simply a matter of waiting around until one starts.

Once it starts, you’ll need to kill 100 Vex and the Gate Lord that spawns with it. Each invasion comes with one Gate Lord, so you’ll need to clear a total of three invasions to complete the quest. Once you’ve done that, you can turn the quest in to Eris Morn, and this will unlock the Vex Offensive activity.

From the Director, you’ll be able to select it from the Moon’s map.

ORIGINAL STORY: At the time of writing, the Vex Offensive isn’t actually available in Destiny 2 just yet. While the Shadowkeep expansion has already launched, the new activity won’t go live in the game until Oct. 5. Because of that, we can’t definitively say how players can go about starting it, but we’ll update this article accordingly once we have more information on it.

That aside, we do know that Vex Offensive is going to be a new six-player event with matchmaking. As the Hive are experimenting with Nightmares on the Moon, the Vex are also going to be invading the area with their own forces, and it’s up to the Guardians to put a stop to that.

This event will allow players to chase down new loot, and go for specific weapons and armor pieces that they want to add to their collection. No details have been given just yet, but it sounds like this activity will be on the same level as the Menagerie that we got in the previous season.

In that event, players could collect different colored Runes and place them into the Chalice. After completing a run of the Menagerie with the right Rune combination, they would then be able to obtain a specific piece of gear. Again, we’ll confirm if the Vex Offensive operates similarly to the Menagerie once it’s actually gone live.

That’s all you need to know about how to start Vex Offensive in Destiny 2 Shadowkeep for now. Be sure to check our Shadowkeep guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
