Horizon Zero Dawn 2

Horizon Zero Dawn came out around the same time as another huge open world adventure game **cough** Breath of the Wild **cough.

It spoiled Horizon’s Zero Dawn GOTY bids a bit in some circles, but it still stole the hearts of critics everywhere with its attention to detail, engrossing story, and a likable protagonist named Aloy.

Giving players a gorgeous and fully-realized world with futuristic tech and robotic dinosaurs, Horizon Zero Dawn showed us what the PS4 was capable of and it wowed gamers with its presentation and top-notch visuals.

The lush and vibrant world still sticks with us after being out for over two years now and there is no doubt that Guerilla Games is working on a sequel, so what better way to release it than as a launch title for the upcoming PS5.

Thanks to the haptic feedback in the new controller, pulling back a bow and arrow will feel even more realistic when you’re taking down mechanical monsters across the land.

With the PS5 being way more powerful too, having a seamless open world in Horizon Zero Dawn 2 would be easier to do, and in turn, will give players an experience unlike any other –just imagine all of the possibilities.

It’s all but a rumor for now, but let’s hope that news of a sequel is coming our way.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

marvel's spider-man 2, sequels, ps5 5 launch titles,

Insomniac Games showed the world how you make a good superhero game with our favorite web-slinger as the star.

Sure, Batman broke the mold for comic book heroes taking over the video game space, but Spider-Man PS4 took swinging, combat, and story-telling to the next level.

Since the hype for Spider-Man was at a peak with the MCU taking over the world and Spider-Man films being better than ever, there was a lot riding on this title to be good and Insomniac and Sony blew it out of the water.

The sequel to Spider-Man could have Miles Morales playing a larger role in the story and some other Spider-Man villains that have yet to appear could come into play as well.

As long as the main gameplay components remain similar, there’s no doubt in the world that a sequel would be utterly fantastic, and if it becomes a PS5 launch title, the Marvel fans would welcome it with big open arms for sure.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Square Enix has confirmed that the much-anticipated remake of Final Fantasy VII will be released in March of 2020 but there is a big chance that there will be a next-gen release on the PS5 as well.

One of the big reasons why PlayStation succeeds in Japan and the east in general, more so than Microsoft, is their abundance of Japanese-developed titles and JRPG’s.

If Final Fantasy VII Remake winds up releasing on the new console as well, it would generate more sales for the game and it would make the console more tempting for the overseas market.

Only having western-developed titles such as God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn at the console’s launch would a massive achievement, but Sony needs at least one big JRPG to appease the Japanese fanbase and having some type of Final Fantasy title would help for sure.

God of War 2

As far as video game reboots/sequels go, Sony Santa Monica’s new interpretation of God of War and the character of Kratos is the best way to go. Instead of starting from scratch, God of War continued the story of our angry anti-hero, but with some changes.

Kratos now has a son that he’s teaching to become a warrior like his father; the story is much more cinematic and heartfelt; and the combat is smooth as butter, with the Leviathan Axe being one of the most satisfying video game weapons in recent memory.

Santa Monica brought Kratos back into the mainstream discussions and went on to win tons of Game of the Year awards in 2018.

There is no confirmation just yet that the team is working on a sequel, but all signs point towards a PS5 release that continues the story of Kratos and Atreus.

I can’t wait to yell “BOY” over and over again while playing my shiny PS5 and if “God of War 2” ended up being a launch title, it would go down in history as one of the best launches since Breath of the Wild and Super Mario 64.

Astro Bot Sequel or DLC

Whenever anybody asks what PlayStation VR game they should play first, Astro Bot is usually the game that comes to mind.

It’s one of those near-perfect platformers that fully utilizes the tech behind Sony’s VR unit and not only is it adorable and fun to play, but it constantly changes up the game and surprises you time after time.

After finishing up the way-too-short campaign, I immediately wanted more levels to jump into and that’s exactly why a sequel on the PS5 would be amazing.

It would give new PSVR owners a chance to check out Astro Bot and it would give returning players a reason to pick up a PS5 at launch –it’s the best of both worlds and honestly, just having more Astro Bot in our lives would make the world a better place, even if it’s just some DLC.

FIFA 21 and Other Sports Games

fifa, madden, nba 2k, sequels

Typically, EA releases their yearly FIFA title sometime towards the end of September, but now that the PS5 is confirmed to launch in the holiday of 2020, there could be a chance that it could be pushed back a few weeks to coincide with the big launch, becoming a launch title.

You can expect the other yearly sports games such as Madden NFL 21 and NBA 2K 21 to make an appearance on the shiny new console as well.

Essentially if you’re a sports game fan, you should have no problem finding something to play on the PS5 on launch day and if you’re someone who’s not ready to buy into the next-gen just yet, don’t you worry.

Expect all of these games to see a release on the current-gen consoles as well, you know EA wants to spread their titles as far as the eye can see so that they’re accessible to any and everyone.

Call of Duty 2020

call of duty 2020, black ops 4, treyarch, activision, sequels

Call of Duty 2020 was originally supposed to be developed by Sledgehammer but according to some sources, the next Call of Duty will apparently be taken over by Treyarch and will make a new Black Ops game.

Considering how successful the Black Ops series has been lately, this doesn’t really surprise us and there’s zero chance in hell that it won’t be coming to the PS5.

There’s also a good chance that COD 2020 will release on PS4 and PS5, but of course, the latter will feature improved visuals and graphical fidelity.

There could be a possibility that the title will come out on the same day as the PS5 launch, giving players a good reason to jump on board to the next generation of consoles.

As long as the multiplayer is solid and the single-player is as immersive as other COD titles, it’ll be a great launch title, regardless if it’s Black Ops, Modern Warfare, or a brand new entry.

What PS5 launch titles would you guys like to see in 2020? Any sequels that you’re dying to see come out soon? Let us know in the comments section below!
