Koholint Island in Link’s Awakening is full of lush wildlife, scorching deserts, and lots of rivers and lakes. In order to dive into these waters and splash about, you’re gonna need some flippers. Here’s how to swim in Link’s Awakening.
How to Swim in Link’s Awakening
Whenever you see any deep waters in Link’s Awakening, Link will “drown” and lose a bit of health if you try to jump in without first having the flippers.
It’ll take a few hours into the game until you acquire the flippers, as you don’t get them until the fourth dungeon, The Angler’s Tunnel.
Like most other items in Zelda games, you eventually get the flippers in the dungeon after defeating the mini-boss, Cueball, in The Angler’s Tunnel.
Once you open the chest and get the flippers, you will not have to equip them, because similar to the Power Bracelet and the Pegasus Boots, the item is automatically equipped to Link, allowing you to dive into any water in the game.
How to Use the Flippers
To use the flippers in the water, all you have to do is press the B button to dive down and then the A button to swim a little bit faster. Diving underwater allows you to find hidden secrets and also avoid some enemies in the water.
To sum things up:
- The fourth dungeon in the game, Angler’s Tunnel, the flippers will be found in a chest after fighting the mini-boss, Cueball.
- You won’t have to equip the flippers as its automatically equipped.
- Press B to dive in the water and A to swim faster.
