Today Sega revealed another large chunk of gameplay of the upcoming turn-based JRPG Ryu ga Gotoku 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness, which will be released in the west as Yakuza: Like a Dragon.
The footage, presented live by Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama, showcases several elements of the game.
We get to see a gorgeous rendition of the new setting based on the real city of Yokohama, including landmarks like Chinatown and the Minato Mirai 21 district.
We then move on to the turn-based battles, which appear to be as brutal as ever.
Last, but certainly not least, Yokoyama-san provided a look at Dragon Kart, a Mario Kart-like minigame that appears to be a lot of fun.
You can check out the footage below, already set on the relevant spots. One thing is for sure: Having been to Yokohama many times, the level of fidelity certainly matches the tradition of the series.
If you’d like to see more about the game, you can check out the original reveal, the first trailer with English subtitles, and more trailers and gameplay from yesterday.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon will launch in Japan on January 16, 2020, exclusively for PS4. It’ll also come west later next year.
