FIFA 22 improves on the previous version by making some much-needed tweaks to the ebb and flow of gameplay. Pace still feels like the meta and there’s more opportunity to take on opposing defenders as a result with skill moves and incisive through balls. This means you’ll be wanting to make good use of the FIFA 22’s skill moves, such as the rainbow flick. Here’s how to perform it.
How to do a Rainbow Flick in FIFA 22
An iconic soccer trick, the rainbow flick is the ultimate way to bamboozle an opposing defender. It’s a high-risk, high-reward tactic that can either look totally stunning or go disastrously wrong.
The move involves rolling the ball onto your heel and then kicking it over the top of your head and into the space in front of you, completely eliminating the defender in the process.
While performing a rainbow flick in FIFA 22 isn’t as hard as it in real life, it’s still pretty tricky to get right. There are two different versions of the trick, a simple and advanced version. Both involve flicking the right analog stick in different directions.
Simple Rainbow Flick | Right Stick: down, up, up. |
Advanced Rainbow Flick | Right stick: down, hold up, up |
The advanced version of the move essentially does the same thing, except that the heel kick is performed separately from lifting the ball into the air which kicks it on a bit further.
Regardless of which you opt to perform, you’ll need to practice it plenty before attempting the move in competitive play.
Also, keep in mind you can only perform a rainbow flick in FIFA 22 with a player who has four-star skill moves, and an advanced rainbow flick requires five-star skill moves.
