No matter how many guns you have in Borderlands 3, they won’t be worth squat if you don’t know how to reload them. That’s why we’re here to walk you through the process with a guide. Here’s how to reload in Borderlands 3.
How to Reload in Borderlands 3
Regardless of what weapon you’re using, the input to reload in Borderlands 3 is always the same. On PlayStation 4, you need to press the square button; on Xbox One, you need to press the X button; and on PC, you need to press the R button.
These controls can all be found in the table below.
PlayStation 4 | Square Button |
Xbox One | X Button |
PC | R Button |
This will remain true throughout the duration of the game and across all of the Vault Hunters you can play as, so once you’ve got it memorized, you’ll be good to go.
When You Should Reload
Of course, there are also better times than others for you to reload your weapons in Borderlands 3.
For example, it’s always preferable to reload your weapons during a break between firefights, as opposed to while you’ve got enemies bearing down on you.
Likewise, you shouldn’t be afraid to reload before your clip has run dry. Like most other first person shooters on the market today, Borderlands 3 doesn’t penalize you for reloading when there are still rounds in your magazine, instead taking ammo from your inventory and adding it to whatever’s already in your weapon.
This makes reloading whenever you get the chance not only beneficial, but also the most efficient method for keeping your weapon loaded.
