Stats and Perks

Breath of the Dying is a legendary corrosive assault rifle produced by Dahl. These weapons historically have heavy low recoil and reward precision shots and are somewhat easier to use than say Jakobs.

The stats, like many weapons in Borderlands 3, are randomized and leveled to your character.

It has the unique perk VexHelElEldZodEth, which is a throwback to the old rune word days of Diablo 2. What this does is send out balls of corrosive energy all over on kills which will damage anything nearby.

Obviously, this is incredibly powerful on packs of lower HP/armored enemies that will fall quickly to corrosive damage and create a chain reaction of corrosive chaos.

It’s not as great on bosses though as it needs a kill in order to activate its unique perk, so keep that in mind.

How to Get Breath of the Dying Legendary Assault Rifle

Breath of the Dying is a world drop in Borderlands 3. This means that it can be found by looting weapon caches and hoping for the best. If there’s a boss that drops randomized legendary loot, it could possibly drop from that as well.

You can check out our guide for farming legendary weapons here, but in general, you’ll want to do a loop of repeated boss kills on high mayhem mode difficulties while looting everything you can find.

That does it for how to get the Breath of the Dying legendary assault rifle in Borderlands 3 and what its perk does.
