As always, if you have not completed the main story, beware of spoilers ahead!

Gigamind

Location: Meridian Metroplex, Promethea

Gigamind is one of the earliest boss encounters you will come across. What makes Gigamind such a good boss to farm is how quickly you can get back to him and how simple he is to defeat.

Unlike a boss like Killavolt, Gigamind is one of the more simple bosses in the game and his fight can be repeated with relative ease.

Gigamind is located at the end of the Hostile Takeover questline and cannot be encountered until you complete it.

However, if you have been mainlining the story during your playthrough, you will no doubt have completed this quest as it is part of the main story.

Gigamind not only drops a massive amount of loot when defeated, but he also has a unique gun that is exclusive to him called the Smart Gun XXL, a Corrosive SMG that delivers massive damage and has unique perks.

If you are struggling to take down Gigamind, be sure to take a look at the How To Defeat Gigamind Guide we have in our Borderlands 3 Guide Wiki!

Aurelia

Location: Eden-6, Blackbarrel Cellars

If you find yourself short on cash for the slot machines or vending machines, you may be in luck!

Part of the Chapter 16 mission, Cold as the Grave, Aurelia is a fantastic boss to farm not because of the loot, but for the money that she drops and the containers that you can loot once the battle ends that are filled with cash.

Another great reason that Aurelia is a good boss to farm is how relatively easy she is to defeat. For the most part, Aurelia stands completely still, using her ice abilities to inflict damage to the player.

Much like other enemies, her weak point is her head, so aim for that to do the most damage. She is also weak to Incendiary, Shock and Corrosive type weapons, so make sure to bring one with you to eliminate her faster.

Upon defeating Aurelia, you will be rewarded with not only loot, but tons of cash as well. This is a great boss to farm to add some zeroes to your bank account to spend at Moxxi’s!

Captain Traunt

Location: The Impending Storm, Athenas

Towards the end of the main story mission The Impending Storm on Athenas, you will no doubt encounter Captain Traunt, a more massive version of the heavy enemies you have seen throughout the game.

Much like the rest of the bosses on our list, Captain Traunt is a great candidate for bosses to farm in Borderlands 3 due to how quickly you can get back to his boss arena.

By getting back to the area sooner, you can complete the fight again, getting even more loot in the process.

The other factor that makes Captain Traunt a good boss to farm is how manageable the fight is. Using Shock type weapons to remove his shields will make the fight a breeze.

We recommend you also aim for the generator on his back as that is where his weak point is, so you can deal critical damage and eliminate him faster.

Once you have defeated him, watch the loot pour out of his corpse and repeat until you are satisfied!

The Graveward

Location: Eden-6 Vault

Found at the end of the floating tomb on Eden-6, The Graveward is a simple boss to beat, and even easier to get back to once you are finished.

What makes Graveward a great boss to farm is the fact that he always has a weak spot available to the player. Unlike some of the other bosses on the list that like to protect their vulnerable side (looking at you Captain Traunt!), The Graveward’s weak points are nearly always available to the player.

By shooting the giant glowing yellow spots on The Graveward’s body, you will deal critical damage, taking him down even easier. There are three of these spots on his head, three on his chest, and one giant one that can be shot for massive damage.

Another great thing about The Graveward fight is the fact that he does not have any invulnerability phases. Some bosses will have stages in their fight that do not allow the player to deal any damage for a certain period of time, but The Graveward has no such phase.

The Graveward can be quickly and easily repeated multiple times and will allow you to scoop up a ton of loot in the process.

Tyreen the Destroyer

Location: Destroyers Rift, Pandora

Tyreen the Destroyer’s battle is towards the end of the very end of the game, but is easily repeatable due to the fast travel point being located right in front of the boss door.

This makes the fight extremely easy to repeat, giving you multiple chances at legendary loot.

Although Tyreen the Destroyer is not an easy fight, the amount of loot and chances at boss specific drops make her a worthy boss to farm in Borderlands 3.

One of the rare guns that she can drop is named the Queen’s Call, a very powerful pistol that devastates certain bosses in the game. The gun shoots 3 bullets at a time, but returns 3 bullets to the chamber, as well as ricochets 3 bullets as homing missiles.

Tyreen the Destroyer is easily repeatable, so doing it multiple times will eventually reward you with Queen’s Call, which you can then use to farm any of the other bosses on our list!

In summary, the best bosses to farm in Borderlands 3 are:

  1. Gigamind, located in the Meridian Metroplex of Promethea.

  2. Aurelia, located on Eden-6 in the Blackbarrel Cellars.

  3. Captain Traunt, located near the end of the story missions on Athenas.

  4. The Graveward, located near the Eden-6 Vault

  5. Tyreen the Destroyer, located in Destroyer’s Rift on Pandora near the very end of the game.
