5 Best Fallout 4 Mods of August 2019

This mod aims to bring a little more diversity to the Commonwealth by introducing a brand new hostile creature.

Based on the beta concept art of Morrowind’s Hunger, the Famished has recreated the idea with the Fallout universe in mind. In honor of its origins, the beast keeps a hunger-themed name and looks shockingly good for being built single-handed from the ground up.

Huge and spiny, the Famished can often be found hunting radstag throughout the wasteland and look to rival the Deathclaw in terms of ferocity.

Like all other enemies, they can be fully dismembered and there’s even a rare glowing radioactive variant.

Scavver’s Backpacks

5 Best Fallout 4 Mods of August 2019

If you find yourself frequently becoming over-encumbered (we’ve all been there) you may be in need of a scavver’s backpack.

Aside from completing the wasteland wanderer look, these two weathered-looking knapsacks increase your carrying capacity, adding a hefty additional 45-60 carry weight, depending on which bag you choose.

The backpacks can be found on enemies and at vendors, as well as being a craftable item at chemistry stations. They come in either brahmin leather or canvas and have a few customization options, including toggle-able straps and several color choices.

Much needed practicality aside, they also help add a level of visual realism to the question of why you’re able to haul so much around with you.

Working Beehives

There’s no doubt that the settlements you claim let you live out your farming fantasies, allowing you to grow a wealth of fruit and veg.

This mod only enhances your agricultural potential, adding in working beehives that you can craft, provided you have a queen bee to start you off.

An impressive amount of detail has gone into the hives, with individually modeled queen bees and buzzing sound effects that emanate from each wooden hut.

Once your hives are constructed, they’ll produce sweet, sweet honey for you to harvest, which can then be turned into luck and charisma boosting mead.

If you don’t want to spare one of your farmers, not to worry – you can opt for feral hives that produce honey without adding to your settlement’s food count.

MCM Weather Control

Tired of those radiation storms rolling in? This mod lets you quickly change the current weather to any type you desire, and works just as well if you have either the True Storms or Vivid Weathers mods installed.

As well as simply changing the weather’s current state, this mod enables you to disable weather transitions and even pick the time of day.

If you prefer skulking around under cover of darkness you can make sure there’s never another sunrise in the Commonwealth again.

MCM Weather Control also lets you lock your saved preferred weather while letting you hotkey specific weather types, so if you decide you do want to brave the storms you can summon them with the push of a button.

Power Deathclaw

Deathclaws are damn impressive enemies, we can all agree. Their colossal size and terrifying speed make them the most formidable creatures in the Fallout universe. But have you ever wanted to be one?

Well, now you can. The Power Deathclaw mod takes the fearsome Deathclaw model and maps it to a craftable power armor frame.

You can create the frame through the chemistry station and even wear power armor over your new skin.

The result is the joy of seeing a life-sized Deathclaw cut a jog around the wasteland with a minigun. This is a perfect mod when you just want to add something a little silly to your playthrough.
