If you’ve been waiting for a more robust Pokemon experience on your mobile device, this might be a good game to keep an eye on. Pokemon Masters features popular trainers and Gym leaders from all over the series, and has a heavier focus on the combat elements of the series as well. Here’s how to evolve your Pokemon in Pokemon Masters.
How to Evolve Pokemon in Pokemon Masters
Just like in the other games in the series, your Pokemon need to reach a certain level before they’ll be able to evolve.
From what we’ve seen of the game so far, Pokemon like Piplup and Snivy need to hit level 30 before they become eligible for evolution. However, actually evolving your critters isn’t as straightforward as just hitting the right level, and watching them transform automatically.
Once you’ve hit the required level for the Pokemon you want to evolve, you still need to do a few things first.
Purchasing Evolution Materials
First off, you’ll need to purchase Evolution materials, which can be bought from the store in the main hub. On your screen, just tap the Store button and choose the Exchange Items option.
From here, you can exchange 1,000 non-paid Gems for Evolution materials, which will allow your critters to transform. The first Evolution Shard you purchase will only cost 1,000 Gems, but that price will increase the more you buy them from the store.
As for third stage evolutions, your Pokemon have to hit level 45 to be eligible for evolution, and you need to purchase Evolution Stones as well. These start at 5,000 Gems, and their cost will also increase as you buy more.
Here’s a list of all the Pokemon that can evolve in Pokemon Masters, courtesy of Android Authority:
- Piplup
- Totodile
- Chikorita
- Seel
- Snivy
- Surskit
That’s not all you have to do, though. You still have to participate in and win a special battle to complete the process. Again from the main hub, choose the Battle option and select the evolution mission from your mission list, and off you go.
Once you win the battle, your Pokemon will successfully evolve after that. Don’t worry if you lose the first time, though; you can retry the mission as many times as you need to until you win.
