The latest trailer for Control is heavy on info and exposition, giving players everything they’ll need to know to be ready for the game’s release.
Streamed by the game’s official YouTube account on Aug. 14, the trailer is short and sweet, digging into the most basic elements that make up the game’s story while interspersing footage of the title in action throughout.
Drawn to the Federal Bureau of Control in search of information about her past, Jesse Faden finds herself pulled into a calamity that threatens to swallow the shadowy organization whole.
As a result, she is made the director of the Bureau, forced to team up with a strange array of members from it in the hopes of stopping the calamity before it’s too late.
Of course, this is easier said than done. For every new ally she encounters, she’ll also come face to face with the orchestrators of the plot; the Hiss, an otherworldly force intent on seeing the Bureau and its members destroyed.
It’s all fairly straight-forward, and the new footage of Jesse’s allies does stoke one’s imagination on who they are and how they’ll be implemented in the wider narrative.
