Epic Games has just shared the patch notes for Fortnite Season 10 now that the downtime has officially begun for the game. The patch notes reveal players will be able to hop into new mechs called B.R.U.T.Es, revisit old locations players thought had gone for good thanks to Rift Zones, and that a ton of weapons and items have been vaulted.
Arguably the coolest addition in Fortnite Season 10 are these new B.R.U.T.E mechs. These can be operated either by two people — one controlling movement while the other controls firepower — or just one person on their own as they switch between the two roles. The drive can dash the mech into combat and stomp enemies and structures into the ground.
Meanwhile, the passenger in charge of the firepower has a shotgun that can deal out 50 damage per shot and has a clip size of 10, as well as a missile launcher which can fire up to 10 missiles at once. Additionally, these mechs can also have an Overshield ability, allowing players to consume 200 of any material to create a personal overshield for five seconds to protect you.
Unfortunately, in order to make way for the new addition, Epic Games has gone ahead and vaulted a number of items and weapons in Fortnite’s Season 10 update. We’ve included a full list below:
- Baller
- Quad Crasher
- Flint Knock Pistol
- Shadow Bomb
- Semi-Auto Sniper
- Tactical Assault Rifle
- Mounted Turret
- Air Strike
- Itemized Glider Redeploy (still available in large team modes)
The third and final major change in terms of gameplay comes in the form of Rift Zones. These are a result of the Zero Point explosion at Loot Lake, which has made the island volatile and is allowing locations from previous seasons to return.
However, the patch notes warn that “mysterious gameplay changes” lie in wait at these, so it’ll be interesting to check it out once the servers go back live.
