How to Save Your Game in Control

The first thing that’s worth noting is that there’s no manual save system in Control. As such, you’ll need to keep an eye out for whenever the game is auto-saving, though fortunately, this happens frequently.

Control will auto-save your progress every time you collect something, complete a mission, or visit one of the various Control points littered throughout the environment.

It’s worth noting, however, that if you die, you’ll be sent all the way back to the last Control point you visited, and may have to reclear some enemies that you’d already beaten to get back to where you were.

That being said, your story progress and any collectibles you’d found prior to dying will all be recorded, so it’s simply a case of making your way back to the point you died and continuing with your adventure.

How to Tell If Control Is Auto-Saving

In the bottom corner of the screen, you’ll notice an icon fairly frequently appearing and spinning around. This not only indicates that the game is loading, but also that your progress is being saved.

Once the animation has finished and the icon has disappeared, you should be able to exit out of the game and take a break, knowing full well your progress has been recorded.

To summarise, here’s how to save in Control:

  1. Control auto-saves frequently. Do one of the below things to trigger this:

Complete a mission, pick up a collectible, visit a Control Point, spend Ability Points.

That’s everything you need to know on how to save in Control. For more tips, tricks, and guides, be sure to check out our Control guide wiki.
