Metal Gear Solid Soundtrack Coming to Vinyl; Comic-Con Gets a Limited Edition

The Metal Gear Solid soundtrack from 1998 will receive its first-ever vinyl pressing. Comic-Con attendees can grab it first and in a limited edition.

San Diego Comic-Con attendees will get first dibs on the first official pressing of the Metal Gear Solid soundtrack on vinyl. The special release will come via Mondo, purveyor of limited edition posters, pins, and other collectibles.

Mashable shared the news today that Mondo’s booth at the SDCC will feature a double-LP pressing of Metal Gear Solid’s 1998 soundtrack in a limited edition gatefold jacket. This exclusive version, pictured below, will feature Gray Fox’s helmet on the cover and will be limited to only 1,000 copies.

Anyone able to make it to Comic-Con will also have have the chance to pick up a snazzy Metal Gear Solid poster designed by Sachin Teng. The record will run you $35, and the poster, measuring 18X24 inches will be priced at $50 (and only 225 are available).

If you’re not attending the convention, you will still be able to get your hands on this gorgeous piece for your collection. The Metal Gear Solid soundtrack will be available via the Mondo site (and other record stores) later this summer in a “standard edition” jacket with Solid Snake on the cover. It’s visible in green in the image showing off the records below.
