You actually have two options when setting up a game with friends and both of them require you to first head to the Co-op option from Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3’s main menu. Once you’re there, select the Online option and you’ll be presented with both ways of setting up a game.

Playing Online With Friends in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3

Your first option is to create the game yourself by creating a room, setting a password (if you want there to be one), and giving that to friends for them to join. Once they’ve input the code you’ve given them, they’ll join your game and you’ll be able to start playing, choosing whichever character you like.

The other option is to join one of your friends. Make sure they’ve set up a room in the way we just outlined, then select the ‘Friend’ option from the online menu, at which point Marvel Ultimate Alliance will search for friends who are currently online and playing the game.

You’ll then be able to pick one of them so that you can join their game. If they’ve set a password, you’ll have to get them to tell you what it is so that you can type it in, but you’ll then be able to start playing with them.
