Throwing a Lob Pass in Madden 20

Like we said above, generally, you want to throw a lob in situations where you want to get the ball over a defenders head and give your receiver an opportunity to either outrun their defender, or go up and get the ball.

Throwing a lob pass in Madden 20 is quite simple fortunately, so if you want to employ this strategy you won’t have a hard time doing so.

Obviously, select a passing play. When you hike the ball and see your receiver options tap the button representing the player you want to throw to lightly.

By giving the button just a quick light tap, the QB will throw the ball and put it as high up with a longer more arcing trajectory for your receiver to go and get it.

There are some advantages and disadvantages to throwing lob passes in Madden 20. They are generally more effective when there’s a mismatch in skill between your receiver and the defender.

While this is true for every pass type in Madden 20, it’s especially true for lob passes considering you’re leaving the ball higher up in the air for someone more skilled to grab.

If your WR really isn’t good enough to outrun a defender, or go up and make a spectacular AKA aggressive catch, then it could be problematic.
