Legendary Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima is continuing to share images of Death Stranding during his break, and today he showcased a few interesting ones.
As you can see below (and in the gallery at the bottom of the post) we get to see more beautiful vistas, but there are two very interesting details.
A few days ago we saw how the game prompts you to stand up (like in the first image below) or wake up depending on you’re simply sitting or sleeping by using the circle button.
Today we see more prompts. The second image shows protagonist Sam “Porter” Bridges evidently fatigued, and the circle button prompt says “Rest.” The third image appears to be immediately after, with Sam already sitting and a square button prompt that says “Sleep.”

Considering all the situational controls, we can likely infer that keeping Sam well rested in order to prevent or cure fatigue may be quite important in the game. It would make sense, considering that it’s about traveling long distances mostly by foot.
Speaking of resting, Kojima-san lately mentioned how his eyes are sore due to the long sessions checking the gameplay. It’s impossible not to feel overwhelming respect for how hard he works, and I certainly hope that he’s taking good care of himself.
If you want to know more about Death Stranding, you can take a look at the latest English trailer, the Japanese version with additional footage and a different song.
You can also take a look at a recent gallery of beautiful images, and a second one, and the latest showing the first images in color.
Recently Kojima-san announced that he will be at San Diego Comic Con together with Danish film Director Nicolas Winding Refn. The panel will be hosted at 5:15 PM on Saturday, July 20.
Death Stranding is coming to PS4 on November 8, 2019.
