The second season of Apex Legends, which adds a new character and challenges to the game, also gives players new weapons to play around with as they hunt for opponents. The new weapon in question is the L-Star. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get the L-Star weapon in Apex Legends.
What the L-STAR Is
The L-Star is a new energy-based light machine gun that could give you a powerful new option on the battle field. The weapon’s description reads, “Eyes on the skies, Legends – it’s time to catch a shooting STAR.”
“The L-STAR energy-based light machine gun is dropping into the arena, and its hefty plasma projectiles will help you melt the competition. Sustained fire causes it to overheat, but if you time your shots right, you’ll take your enemies down before it even starts to heat up.” You can see the reveal video for it down below.
Its rounds are high-damage plasma projectiles and they fire at a far faster rate than those of other weapons in Apex Legends. However, since they’re larger, they’re also slower, which means you need to be quite close to an enemy for them to be effective.
However, you need to be light on its trigger. The L-STAR weapon will overheat if you don’t be careful, which leads to you needing to replace its lens after it breaks.
Getting the L-STAR Weapon in Season 2 of Apex Legends
Since it’s likely to be very powerful, the L-STAR is pretty difficult to get your hands on.
Just as the Mastiff and the Kraber weapons have been previously, you can only get it from airdrops, and not from crates scattered around the map. It also doesn’t come with much ammo, and you aren’t able to refill it by getting more.
Alternatively, the L-STAR can be found in Season 2 of Apex Legends by looking in care packages that are on the floor at the start of a game.
