Today during YouTube’s YouTuve Live E3 coverage, General Manager of Xbox Games Marketing Aaron Greenberg talked about the newly revealed Project Scarlett console.
According to Greenberg, Microsoft is currently working on getting the Project Scarlett development kits out, so they don’t want to say that the Halo Infinite footage is what Scarlett’s specs look like just yet, but it was in-game footage. What we saw is part of the early game.
That being said, Greenberg mentioned that Project Scarlett is a huge improvement in processing power able to deliver native 4K and 120 FPS, loading times 40 times faster than current-gen. A lot of investment has been made not just in graphical performance, that will bring benefits for Halo Infinite and all the other games playable on the console next-gen.
While Halo Infinite will launch on Xbox One and PC, the developers are “really optimizing it so that it’ll look great and be a showcase title” when Scarlett launches.
Greenberg stressed that gamers will be able to play four generations of games benefiting from Scarlett’s speed and performance.
