Luigi’s Mansion 3 is set to bring this often overlooked series back into the spotlight as a full home console release on Nintendo Switch, and from what we’ve seen there’s every chance this is going to be the best game yet. Accompanying Luigi on his spooky mission will be Mario, Princess Peach, and a whole army of toads. But is there co-op multiplayer in Luigi’s Mansion 3? We’ve got your answers.
Is There Co-Op Multiplayer in Luigi’s Mansion 3? Answered
For those hoping to enjoy this adventure with a pal, there is good news: Luigi’s Mansion 3 does support co-op multiplayer. The second player, however, won’t be controlling Mario, Peach, or a Toad. Instead, they’ll be tasked with playing Gooigi.
Gooigi is the slobbery secondary protagonist of the game, a gooey clone of Luigi that helps him to solve puzzles by using his special abilities. During multiplayer play, Gooigi can be controlled by a second player, though you’ll have to remain fairly close to each (you can’t travel to different rooms).
Gooigi’s slippery frame means that he can cross spikes and navigate obstacles that would otherwise damage Luigi. You’ll have to watch out for water, though, because that’s Gooigi’s kryptonite –he melts into a puddle of sludge after the slightest bit of contact!
So there you have it, Luigi’s Mansion 3 does support co-op multiplayer. You won’t have to face the haunted hotel all by your lonesome after all!
