Seeking to replicate the success of Pokemon GO, developer Niantic is applying the same AR technology in its latest smartphone game, and this time it’s with another equally popular license. Harry Potter Wizards unite tasks players with trekking around their local neighborhood in search of various magical items. Along the way, you’ll visit different points of interest on your Wizards map. One such point of interest are Greenhouses, so here’s what they do in case you’re unsure.

How to Use Greenhouses & What They Do in Harry Potter Wizards Unite

Greenhouses are locations you’ll find on the Wizards map, and they serve two different functions.

Gathering Ingredients

First, you can collect ingredients from a Greenhouse every five minutes that can be used for crafting potions. You’ll see three plant pots appear and can then choose one by swiping up on it. They will contain a variety of crafting items.

Growing

The second thing they do, which is accessed by pressing ‘Growing’ in the bottom right, is allow you to grow plants. For most, you’ll need a recipe and some water, both of which you just find lying around the world for you to pick up.

Once you have what you need, select an empty pot. Pots are available to all players, so anyone in the vicinity of a Greenhouse can use an empty Pot to grow a plant.

Alternatively, you can pay for a Rental Pot, which reduces grow time and comes with everything you need to grow a specific plant.

You can choose ‘grow’ on the one you want and they’ll begin to spawn around a greenhouse. Every player who’s near the greenhouse at the time will get the ingredients.

Note that while you wait, you and anybody in the vicinity can cast Herbivicus to increase the yield of Potion Ingredients the plant will produce.

When the plant produces ingredients, everyone in your vicinity can take advantage of the full yield, so you don’t have to worry about sharing it. But the ingredients will only remain on your map for a limited amount of time, so don’t wait too long.

That should be everything you need to know about how to use Greenhouses and what they do in Harry Potter Wizards Unite. For more useful tips and information on the game, be sure to check out our wiki page.
